Waiting is the pits..

Its been going on 6 days since Phil had his interview. He is calm and relaxed, he says, knowing he did the best he could do, and the rest is in God's hands. Me on the other hand, am ready to tear the house apart in desperation to know the answer. Waiting has never been my strong point. Its not that I fear what will happen to us if he doesn't get this job, because we are making it on so little now, that our income can't go much lower that it already is. Its more just the waiting. I am terrible at it!

On a different note, when I went to CVS today I got 3 CRT coupons printed on the bottom of my receipt. Yey! I haven't gotten very many since starting to CVS, so getting 3 in one day was defiantly fun. Plus I got some pull-ups for Breanna, toothpaste, sun screen, and candy, for $2.96 after ECB's. And the pull-ups count towards the current baby deal that I have been working towards, get $5 ECB's when you buy $25 worth of specified baby products. Not the greatest deal in the world, but pull-ups are included, and both my kids still wear them to bed, so I have been working them in a little at a time to reach $25.

CVS and the basics

As my blog gets going, (or as I hope my blog gets going) I just wanted to reference any of you that are not familiar with CVS'ing, couponing, and the like, to check out MoneySavingMom's CVS 101 blog. It is what helped me get started, and is very informative about how you can make CVS'ing work for you.

I would also like to mention, that in addition to CVS, I also do some of the Rite Aid Single check rebate program, as well as use some of my coupons at Walmart and other stores. Most of my stuff comes from CVS, but if you're wondering how you managed to miss THAT deal at CVS, its possible that I didn't get it there! lol!

If you are interested in learning more about deals and what not, browsing around Slickdeals.net under the Drugstore B&M Deals and Discussion forum is a good place to start.

Lots of people out there 'do the deals' as far as listing them goes. While I am sure to talk about them, I do not plan on exclusively posting about them. So if you want the full scoop, check out some of those places! (Places include, but are not limited to 'IheartCVS.com', 'MoneySavingMom.com', 'Slickdeals.net' and many more)

My life

Today Phil had his latest job interview. I thought I had everything under control, with my worrying and all, but as the day wore on I found myself becoming more and more stressed out. I finally prayed about it for quite a while, and was able to, (for the moment) let it go. I can't promise not to run and grab it out of Jesus hands, but for the moment, it is back where it belongs. God has always taken care of us in the past, not always how I might have wanted, but in the end, things came together in a way that only he could have done. Even the place we are living today, is thanks to him. I might not always like it, I'm sure I'll complain about it from time to time, but I am very thankful to have a roof over my head, a warm bed to sleep in at night, 2 healthy, wonderful, lively children, and a loving husband who supports me staying home to take care of our kids.
Sorry if I rambled on a bit, I needed to remind myself of everything that I have to be thankful for. Some days it is very easy to feel sorry for myself, and forget that things could be a lot worse. I certainly have my moments!

Keeping Track

So, I decided to start a blog to help keep track of my wonderful savings at CVS thanks to MoneySavingMom, Slickdeals.net, and other odds and ends websites that have helped me along the way. I have been CVS'ing (as they call it) for 2 months now, and already have saved so much money I just can't believe it! My years of paying for toothpaste are over! (I must have enough to last a few years- lol!) I have been keeping track of my savings using a spreadsheet that I downloaded from a link provided by IheartCVS.com. It has been a wonderful tool for keeping track of the total amount that I am spending out of pocket on my CVSing.
My total amount spent for my first 2 months of CVSing is: $31.39 For that $31.39 I have gotten (and this is by no means a complete or comprehensive list)

26 bottles of Dawn dish soap
5 packs of 8-roll paper towels = 40 rolls of paper towels
8 or more packs of 8 rolls and up toilet paper
10 tubes of toothpaste
20 or more toothbrushes
15 bottles of shampoo
5 packs of 40 count baid-aids
3 two-count C batteries
Mouthwash ( about 5 bottles)
6 packs of Face wipes
6 covergirl Mascara
6 covergirl foundation and cover up

4 packs of pull ups (aprox 20-30 each)
3 packs of baby wipes

So I am going to try and post here regularly to help me keep track of my savings, as well as to keep track of other happenings in my family.
